The white line woodcut, also known as the Provincetown Print, is a uniquely American form of printmaking, invented by artists working in Provincetown in the early 1900's. In this method, beautiful multi-color prints are printed by hand using a single block of wood, eliminating the need for a press or complicated registration systems. This fun workshop offers the opportunity to learn traditional methods of design, carving and printing, as well as the chance to expand upon the tradition with creative inking and printing options to create contemporary interpretations of the medium. Participants will leave with their own unique prints, newfound skills and appreciation of the process.

Note: The material fee of $25, embedded in the registration price, covers one 8"x10" shina block and one piece of washi paper (which makes two prints), as well as access to the instructor's tools, inks, palettes, etc. A deposit of $50 is required at the time of booking.
